A Forum for Immigrant Job Seekers and Regional Employers.

Our research confirms and supports labour market studies showing that the labour force in the South Okanagan Similkameen region is not growing fast enough to meet employers’ needs for workers and demonstrates that new immigrants are an important source of skilled and experienced workers.

Our research indicates there may be a significant gap between the actual and the perceived skills and experience of new immigrants.    While key barriers inhibit the integration of new immigrants into the region’s workforce, new immigrants and employers exhibit a willingness to work together to be part of the solution.

CONNECT2017 is a step in that direction.  CONNECT2017 is a Forum for immigrant job seekers and regional employers.  The Forum will include a workshop to address diversity in today’s workplace, a resource fair, employer and immigrant panel discussions and a networking wine & cheese.
